- I agree with you assesment here is my progress on some of these issues:
-
-
- I talked to Comit and they say the new version will NOT work with FaxTalk.
-
- They have not responed to my issue of it not recovering from a disconnect.
-
- Diamond has said that a new vesion will be released in about a month that
- may help our problems.
-
- In the meantime I have been searching for the method that FaxTalk uses to
- pass control to Comit on a data mailbox transfer. I would appreciate any
- help in this area that you could provide. My gues is that Comit is
- polling the modem for a change in mode. This mode would occur by FaxTalk
- when a data mailbox transfer occurs. I have used Spy to monitor messsage
- between the two programs but see nothing. Also do you know how to contact
- Thought Communications. They wrote FaxTalk and might help inform us how
- the procedure works. If we can figure out how the transfer occurs we can
- use most other Comm programs for Data and be rid of Comit.
-
- The last idea I have is to write a simple program that will monitor the
- comm port for a CD false setting (after a CD true occurs during a modem
- connect.
-
- If after a prest time the CD is false then a set of keystrokes could be
- send to Comit to cancel and reinitialize. It's kind of kludgy but it
- should work until the problem is resolved.
